I think everyone would agree that the more you grow your knowledge, the greater your skill in the marketplace. The more you practice, the better you get. The greater your body of work, the greater your opportunity.
My friend Robb Buckland posted on his FaceBook profile a great truth:
I've come to embrace the notion that I haven't done enough in my life. I've come to confirm that one's title, even a title like master or sensei, says very little about how well one's life has been led. No matter how much you've done or how successful you've been, there's always more to do, always more to learn, and always more to achieve.
That's what building a body of work is all about. It's about the daily labor, the many individual acts, the choices large and small that add up over time, over a lifetime to a lasting legacy. It's about not being satisfied with the latest achievement, the latest gold star, because the one thing I know about a body of work is that it's never finished. It's cumulative. It deepens and expands with each day you give your best. You may have setbacks and you may have failures, but you're not done. You haven't even started.
Robb is a very accomplished martial artist, and I have also worked with him in business and he is a very good business man and sales professional. Coincidence? I think Not.
Our mission at BizBuilders Networking Groups is simple and it is accomplished for those that participate. This issue is, however, that most people don't participate, and if they do, they don't do enough. I think most people will agree with that, also, if they set aside excuses and biases. Of course it is hard. I believe that life and business is more difficult than what can be accomplished by one person. I guess that is what drives me to promote the goodness of a weekly get together, F2F (face to face).
Here's a excerpt from the BizB Leaders and Members Manual, Maximizing F2F:
- Professional development. Every week a presentation on a business topic is given by an outside speaker or group member. This makes the meetings more than just a place to hear an infomercial; they are places to learn and grow. Sometimes a moderated discussion will replace the speaker to aid members in sharing business insights with each other.
Take action! This week, let yourself be inspired! If you grow emotionally, physically, in business knowledge, intellectually, just 1% per week -on purpose- you will be a different, more fulfilled, more effective, more productive, happier and stronger in a short amount of time!
2 Quick tips:
1) Read 10 pages a day of anything you think you need to know more about. You are probably right.
2) Start or Join a Networking Group
